3 - Temple of Roo - Part 1

After you have defeated Rollay at the Jungle Ruins, head back to Neopia City and talk to Eleus Batrin. Here's the conversation:

Eleus Batrin says: "Greetings, bbbbb."
You say: "What can you tell me about this medallion I found in the Jungle Ruins?"

Eleus Batrin says: "This is interesting, very interesting... I can tell you straight away that I can't translate the inscription on this medallion. The characters do look familiar, though. Maybe... there might be someone who can help. You should take this to Gali Yoj; she was my teacher, long ago. Last I heard, she was living far to the south, though, in a place called Sunny Town. I don't really know where it is, but I know that to get there you need to head west past the Spooky Forest, and then south through the Great Swamp. From there, you'll have to ask directions."

So you have to go find Gali Yoj at Sunny Town.

Say good-bye to Neopia City. You won't be coming back this way anymore.


Now here begins the new adventure: Temple of Roo.


1. Weapon Upgrade

By now, my skills look like this:

You should also have Damage 10 weapon (Nature Wand) and Defense 6 armor (Magic Robe).

Therefore, it's time to upgrade your armor. To get the new armor, head west from Neopia City, through the swamp and into Swamp Edge City. Talk to Leirobas.

After talking to Leirobas, he tells you he needs:

After you talk to Mokti, you found out you need to collect:

Now you can go South into the Desert of Roo. Fight the monsters and collect the following:

Dawnshine Generator Shield
Spyder Leg (Sand Spyder)
Spyder Pincer (Dust Spyder)
Cobrall Fang (Desert Cobrall)
Skeith Eye (Sand Skeith)

or

Sorcerous Robe
Spyder Blood (Sand Spyder)
Cobrall Venom (Desert Cobrall)
Skeith Spit (Sand Skeith)
Crystallized sand (Desert Zombie)




2. Temple of Roo

Now go back to the desert and head towards the Temple of Roo.
You should level up to level 29 - 31.

On the way, you will get to meet these monsters:

As you travel down south, you will enter Desert of Roo. It is here you should collect all the items to get you another weapon. The monsters here are very weak:

It will gives you giant spider leg and giant spider blood!

It carries a Dust Spider Pincer.

It carries a Desert Cobra Fang, a Drop of Desert Cobra Venom

It will give you the Pinch of Crystallized Sand

It carries a Sand Iguana Eye, Glob of Dried Iguana Spit



Once you have collected one of the set, go back to Swamp Edge City, and get the Dawnshine Generator Shield or Sorcerous Robe and equip it. The Dawnshine Generator items are easier to collect. It doesn't matter what item you collected. They work the same.



Now that you have equip your Dawnshine Generator Shield, a Defence 10 Armour, you have to go down the desert area into the grassy area to hunt for a Grarrl that carry a Carved Oak Staff. If you are low on glowing stone, stay around here and fight the golem. They give away glowing stones.

Once you got the Staff, you can head over to the Temple of Roo. It's a cave that's in the Desert of Roo.

3 - Temple of Roo - Part 2

Temple of Roo:

Entrance to Temple of ROO.

Use the Map. This place is big and you have to go round and round to get to the ground floor.

Note: The points you have been getting, you should be spending it on Shock Magic.

This is my skills upon arrival to the Temple of ROO:

When I played on Evil Mode, I decided not to waste the skill points and just put the 3 points from the Fire Magic into Life Magic.

That's makes my Field Medic 3 and Lifesteal 2.
I will be upgrading the Shock Magic to 6 when I am hunting here.


This is what you need to do when you enter the cave:

1. Talk to Erick near the entrance.

Erick says: "Eh? Who's that? Who's there?"
You say: "My name is XXXXXXX."

Erick says: "Oh... uh... well hello... I'm glad you found me... I don't suppose you'd be willing to help an old wizard, would you?"
You say: "What kind of help?"

Erick says: "Uh... well... ages ago... when this place was... was attacked, in a terrible battle... they put a shield over this place, trapping the inhabitants... we cannot escape... uh... perhaps... perhaps you could find something for me... I could escape if I had it... please... please help..."
You say: "What do you need me to find?"

Erick says: "Need... I need... a carved oaken staff... from the grarrls who roam the plains to the south of the Desert of Roo. And... and a headpiece... one of the Jewels of Power, to... to sit atop the staff... and one last thing. An ancient artifact... the Coruscating Gem... to focus the power and create the final... the final staff. Seek the archmagus here... he has... he has the gem."
You say: "What are the Jewels of Power?"

Erick says: "The Jewels... the Jewels of Power are... are lost to time. But there is one who knows... who can tell you about them. Seek out Leirobas, to the north..."




2. Then go through the floor of Level 1.

You MUST get a piece of Living Crystal from the Crystal Golem on your way in. You need this for the next weapon upgrade. There are more Crystal Golem nearer to the exit of this level.

When you reached the end of this level, you see a cave ramp, enter it and you are going into Temple of Roo Level 2, the place where you will find the Big Boss - Archmagus of Roo.

3 - Temple of Roo - Part 3

Temple of Roo - Level 2

3 things to note on this level:

1. Emerald.
Make sure to collect an Emerald from the ghastly enemies because you will need it to ugrade a weapon later.


2. Ghastly Monsters
On this floor, the name of the enemies will starts with "Ghastly". They can and will drain your life and so be sure to stock up on the potion.

A ghastly guardian was carrying ruby and Strong Healing Potion.
A ghastly guardian was carrying a Greater Healing Potion!
A ghastly guardian was carrying sapphire!
A ghastly guardian was carrying onyx!

3. Key to Doors
On this floor, the doors to the rooms are locked. So you have to find the key to get into the door which will hold a key to the next door. There are all together 6 keys that you need to collect.

Enter a room with an open door (Room 1).
Hunt and you will get a Copper-Plated Key from a Ghastly Initiate. This key will open the door to another room which will get you Key 2 (Please refer to the map.) Enter that room, and hunt and get a Bronze-plated key which gets you to the next room until you get the last key (key #6) to go the room that Archmagus of Roo is.

A ghastly initiate shrieks, "My master will avenge me!" as it runs away!
A ghastly initiate was carrying a Strong Healing Potion!
A ghastly initiate was carrying a copper-plated key!
A ghastly initiate was carrying topaz!

Ghastly Initiate gives you a Copper-Plated Key (Key #1) which leads to room 2



Room #2: Need Copper-Plated Key to enter.

Ghastly Adept gives you a Bronze-Plated Key (key #2) - leading to room 3

A ghastly master drains you of 40 health, adding it to itself! --- So be careful.
A ghastly master was carrying a Gold-Plated key!

Then you will see Archie.

Note: Never let your health drop below 85 because he can freeze you 3 rounds and take out 80HP. Keep using your healing potions as you can collect more in the Techo Caves. Always use Absorption whenever you can. Now go fight.


When you defeat him, the Archmagus of Roo slumps back against the wall of his tiny chamber. "I never thought anyone could find all the keys... or get to this place. You are truly powerful to have defeated me. Perhaps... perhaps you can bring peace to this place after all. Seek Erick, in the tunnels above... he went mad when they sealed this place, but he may still have the power to break free... if... if..." The Archmagus trails off, his eyes staring blindly past you, and he stops moving.

Take the teleporter back to the entrance. This is not over yet. Yet. You still need to do a few more thing, like upgrading the weapon. Using Sneaking Mode because all these monsters are now too weak to give you any experience mode and I don't want to waste time.

This is what you need to do:

1. Go back to Erick to learn about the Clouded Gem that you have just received from Archie. He will clean it up and make it into the Coruscating Gem.

2. With the Coruscating Gem, you make your way to Swamp Edge City to talk to Leirobas.

3. With the Jewels of Power, you go back to Erick.

This staff can heal 100+HP. A very good weapon, however, when you use it, it will takes about 15-20 turns before you can use it again. Equip it.

I got out of this cave and say bye-bye to Temple of Roo. Off I go Techo Cave, the next adventure.
