4 - Techo Cave : Cave 1 & 2

Posted by kreai in

Head South from Temple of Roo and you will come to Techo Cave.

Cave 1
Refer to the map.

Once you enter the cave you will see Mr Igro.

Photobucket

Talk to him.

Mr. Irgo says: "Hmm... You look suitable for a task I have in mind."

You say: "Who are you?"

Mr. Irgo says: "My name is Mr. Irgo. I sell valuable pieces of monsters on the black market; living gemstones, body parts of certain beasts, and so on."

You say: "What task do you have in mind?"

Mr. Irgo says: "I need you to collect things for me. The first is a set of gems, or rather, pieces of the living rock creatures that inhabit these caves. I need a piece of agate, a piece of chrysolite, and a piece of serpentine. If you bring me these, I will chip off a fragment of each and create a new piece of armour for you: an energy absorber."

"The second set of things I need are pieces of the drakonids who live here: an eye, a hide, and a heart. Bring me these and I can draw some of their magical power away to make you an robe of protection."

So you have to get this:

Photobucket

You can get the items from:
Drakonid eye (cave 1),
Drakonid hide (cave 1 & 2), and
Drakonid Heart (cave 1 & 2)

OR

Photobucket

You can get the items from:
Piece of Agate (cave 1),
Piece of Chrysolite (cave 2), and
Piece of Serpentine(cave 2)

It is recommended that we get the Energy Absorber because this absorber can convert damage done to you into hit points.

Once you got the items you need, go back to Mr Irgo and get the weapon upgrade.

After you've equipped it, Go back through Cave 1, and Cave 2, and don't leave these two Caves until you are at least level 36!

NOTE:
Level up to Level 34 before you enter Cave 2.
DON NOTE LEAVE Cave 2 until you are Level 36
or else you will have to use lots of potion to heal.

Hint:
If you need to use lots of potions to heal, you are not ready to enter that zone. Go back and level up one more level before you proceed.

Try to collect as many Superior Healing Potions for use at Mountain Fortress.

4 - Techo Cave : Cave 4

Posted by kreai in

When you got yourself the Energy Absorber and at level 36, it's time to leave this 2 caves. You have to go to Cave 4 and to Sunny City.

Note: Fighting Monsters

1. Giant Drakonid
Be careful. He can take 50hp from you even when he's has 1hp left and he can still go a few rounds. Sigh... tough...

Photobucket

Even the picture make it looks scary. LOL.

If you have been upgrading your Reflexes Skill in the Spectral Magic Category (mine is Level 2), this is what it can do:

A giant drakonid attacks you, but your reflexes are superior! A giant drakonid hits themselves for 26 damage!

2. Granite Dervish

Photobucket

I find it difficult to fight the Granite Dervish. Everytime I fight a dervish, I ended up having to use my potion. It's draining and it can stun you for 2 rounds and taking 40hp from you at any one time. Sigh...

You will get lots of this 2 monsters at the exit of Cave 4.

The other monsters you get to rumble with here are:

Photobucket

Lazulite Dervish
We have seen him at cave 2. Getting easier to defeat him now.

Photobucket
Melatite Dervish

Photobucket
Greater Melatite dervish
He will stun you for 2 rounds but he may rewards you with 100xp

Photobucket
Tolbas Rock Dragon

Photobucket
Praetus Rock Dragon
He can take 40hp from you but otherwise easy to defeat

4- Techo Cave : Sunny City

Posted by kreai in

When you exit Cave 4, you have go to Sunny City. There you will meet Gali Yoj. Talk to her.

Photobucket

Gali Yoj says: "Who's there?"

You say: "My name is xxxxx. Who are you?"

Gali Yoj says: "Why, I'm Gali Yoj. I'm the lore keeper in these parts; I know more than anyone about the Techo Mountains, the Two Rings, the Eastern Glade, Kal Panning... what would you like to know?"

You say: "What can you tell me about the Techo Mountains?"

Gali Yoj says: "Well, you probably already know all about the Techo Mountains, since you passed through them to get here. They are riddled with a warren of caves and passages, leading to the Plains of Roo in the north, the Great Plateau in the east, and of course to our little town here. There are other things lost in the mountains, as well... ancient ruins. A mountain fortress. A lake with a mysterious island in the middle, behind a locked door..."

You say: "What ancient ruins?"

Gali Yoj says: "During the time of the Great Empire, a powerful wizard built a fortress in the Techo Mountains, on a cliff overlooking the sea. The wizard was involved in research into the nature of magic, and accidentally summoned five guardian spirits, who destroyed him and took over his fortress. These elemental guardians each wield one of the Staves of Brilliance, and are immensely powerful, as they are each a focus for a particular kind of magic. They would be difficult to defeat for any who dared venture there."

You say: "What are the Two Rings?"

Gali Yoj says: "The Two Rings are a huge mountain range that extends northeast from the Techo Mountains here. Each of the two 'rings' of mountains encircles an enormous valley. I've never been there myself, but from what I know, many dangerous monsters and creatures roam there. Supposedly there's a cave that leads through the mountains, into the valley, but there is a guardian who protects it."

You say: "Can you tell me about the Eastern Glade?"

Gali Yoj says: "If you follow the Great Plateau to the southeast, you will skirt around the Two Rings Mountains, and come to a great coastal forest, the Eastern Glades. They are inhabited by magical woodland creatures, but they aren't particularly fond of intruders in their home, so watch your step. The Glades surround a lake containing the island city of Kal Panning."

You say: "What is Kal Panning?"

Gali Yoj says: "Kal Panning is an ancient, cursed island city. It was once a grand, prosperous city, but long ago there was a great battle there, led by the Circle of Twelve after the Great Empire split into two factions. Kal Panning rebelled against the Circle, who they claimed were becoming too powerful and greedy to rule the Empire fairly. The Circle massed an army and attacked Kal Panning, and the battle lasted over a month, with many powerful wizards on both sides. Eventually, the Circle used the last of their strength to curse Kal Panning, and the city itself rose up and destroyed the rest of the inhabitants and defenders. It has been a haunted ruin ever since."

You say: "Eleus Batrin sent me. He said you might know something about this medallion."

Gali Yoj says: "Well, let's take a look at it, then..." Gali leans closer to you and looks at the rusty medallion. After a moment, she chuckles. "It's no wonder Eleus sent you to me. He was never very good at reading Kayannin script. He neglected it in his studies, thought it wasn't important. That's what these characters are, you see. And if I am not mistaken, then this item is... the Keladrian Medallion."

You say: "What is the Keladrian Medallion?"

Gali Yoj says: "The Keladrian Medallion was an artifact of great power, created thousands of years ago by the Kayannin, an ancient civilization of powerful wizards. They vanished without a trace over two thousand years before the Great Empire was even founded, but many of their artifacts, which are nearly indestructible, remain to this day. It is fortunate that you were able to find this one.

"Give me the medallion, and I will restore it to its normal radiance and power."

You say: "What should I do with the Keladrian Medallion?"

Gali Yoj says: "Trapped in the haunted ruin of Kal Panning are the undead remains of that city's leader, a great and powerful sorceress named Faleinn. She was known as a kind and generous leader when she was alive, but after the city fell, she was killed and rose again as a horrible creature of darkness. However I believe that she was instrumental in sealing the passage into the Two Rings. If you show her the Keladrian Medallion, she might be able to tell you something about how to get into the Two Rings... if she doesn't kill you first."

You say: "Why do I need to go to the Two Rings?"

Gali Yoj says: "The world has long been infested with monsters, giants, undead... all sorts of horrible creatures that plague the countryside and make travel unsafe. I have reason to believe that the source of these problems can be found in the Two Rings. There is said to be an ancient dungeon in the northern ring that contains a source of great evil, which is why the Two Rings were sealed in the first place. The mountains themselves are utterly impassable; nothing could make the journey, let alone survive it. At least, nothing is SUPPOSED to be able to make the journey. The fact that the world is covered with dangerous creatures gives the lie to that claim. Something is escaping from the Two Rings that must be destroyed... and you are probably the only one who can do that. I am too old and weak to travel, and many others are too weak or frightened to attempt what must be done. But you have demonstrated amazing courage and spirit in helping unravel many mysteries, and you are probably our only hope."

End of this long converstion.

Photobucket

Gali Yoj takes the old, rusted medallion from you, and holds it gently in one hand while gesturing at it with her other. Sparks of gold light shoot from her free hand and strike the medallion, scraping off the layer of rust and grime, and causing the metal underneath to emit a lambent glow. After a minute, the crud has been worn away and the Keladrian Medallion shines in all its glory. Gali Yoj turns to face you. "This medallion carries a great responsibility with it. Use it wisely."

This medallion will help you to fight with Faelinn. So the medallion is polished and you have to go to The Mountain Fortress.

How to get to The Mountain Fortress?
Go back through Cave 4.
Then Go through Cave 2.
Into Cave 3.
Then to Cave 6.

Then you will be at The Mountain Fortress. Yap, it's a long journey. You must gain 1-2 levels through these caves. Do not leave these caves unless you are at least at level 38.

4 - Techo Caves 4, 2, 3, 6

Posted by kreai in

After Sunny City, you have to get to The Mountain Fortress. To get there, you have to go throuh Cave 4, then Cave 2, then Cave 3 and Cave 6. Boring, but good to level up. You have to level up to 39 before getting into Mountain Fortress. Don't leave Cave 6 until you are at least at Level 38 or 39.

It's good to have the power of reflex. See what it can do:

"A giant drakonid attacks you, but your reflexes are superior!
A giant drakonid hits themselves for 40 damage!"

My reflexes is at level 2.

Here are the monsters from Cave 3. Most of the mosters are the same as Cave 2.

Photobucket

Morgus Rock Dragon

The monster at Cave 6 are the same as Cave 2 and 3. Except now the xp you get for fighting them are lower.
