What is Neoquest?
NeoQuest is an adventure game that takes you through the world of Neopia. You play the role of a Lupe.

Photobucket

This is you

The objective of the game is to go through the different cities, killed the villians who have taken over the cities and claim victory.

Chose which pet you want to play the game. (All of your pet can have their own games - separately. But remember to select the pet as active before going into the game)

Exploring the World

You move by using the 8 directional arrows to the right of the map. Sometimes you will encounter caves, ruins, and other places that you can enter. When this happens, you will see a "Go!" link appear above the directional arrows. I would suggest that you get the maps of this neoquest, print it out and use it as refence. You can get the map from HERE. All the map for this quest are in here. It will definately help you to find your way.

Photobucket

Levels and Experience
You start the game with level 1. As you defeat monsters, you will gain experience points (XP). After you gain enough xp, you will gain a level. The maximum level is 50. Depending on your level and your opponent's level, different xp will be awarded when you defeat them. You will find out when you start playing the game.

Battle
As you roam/move around, you will randomly encounter monsters. When you are fighting a monster, you can choose to use your regular attack, use one of your extra skills, use a healing potion, flee from the monster (if you do not want to fight), or do nothing at all. Once the monster's health drops to zero, you have defeated it and you will gain xp and sometimes healing potion orr whatever the monster is carrying. However, if the monster is weaker than you, you will not be awarded the xp when you defeated it, but you wills till get the item that it is carrying.

Movement

Normal - average chances of meeting monster
Hunting - high chances of meeting monster. You would want to play in this mode because you would want to gain experience and collect items.
Sneaking - low chances of meeting monster

You may change your movement type whenever you are not in battle, by clicking on the movement type above the map.

Others
Try not to get your health point (hp) too low. If you are defeated, you have to start all over again.

The Basic

Posted by kreai in

A young friend wanted to play Neoquest and find the guide from some of the experience players a bit too difficult and complicated to understand. I had done a summary of this game before. But I think it's not very clear too. So I decided to redo this again in a new blog. So here's NQ1 revisited.

The Basic:

1. How do you move?

Photobucket

By clicking at the arrow:

Photobucket

2. How to equip a weapon/armor?

By going to the "View Item" and activating the "Equip" action.

Photobucket

Here at "Your Item" page, you can also see all your inventory.

You can heal yourself by clicking the "use" wherever your potion is.

3. How to heal?

Go to Boraxis in the Neopia City

Photobucket

Talk to him and he will immediately heal you.

Photobucket

4. How to make items?

- By going to the specific person and talk to him.
- Then give him the items.
- And viola, he will give you the items.
- Then go to your item page and equip it.

Like this:

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

5. Who is at Neopia City?

a. Morax Dorangis (SW)- he makes either the Energy Shields and Cloth Robes.
b. Choras Tillie (SE) - he makes the Mirrored Force Fields and Magic Robes.
c. Lummock Sendent (NE) - He sells some basic magic wands. This is where I get my Spectral Magic Wand - Black Wand.
d. Boraxis the Healer (NW) - He heals you for free.

That's all the basic. You can apply almost all this skills for the rest of the game because you need to collect items to make weapons and armor, equip and unequip, etc etc...

One more thing. The Map. It's very important that you FOLLOW THE MAP or else you will be running around like a headless chicken. I used the map created by Digifort. They have very good maps there. You need these map to get around. I emailed them to ask if I could post their map here, but I didn't get an answer from them. It has been months. Actually I emailed them twice. Still no answer. So I don't know if I could post their map here. Most probably not. So go there and get the map. They do have good guides there too. Just a bit too long-winded and instruction not very clear-cut for me. That's why I decided to make a summary. :D

Neopia City

Posted by kreai in

Who is in the City?

Photobucket
Eleus Batrin

Talk to Eleus Batrin.

Eleus Batrin says: "I'm the weaponsmith here in Neopia City. I can make a variety of rod-type weapons, one from each of the five Spheres of Magic. I also know a fair bit about Neopia City and its surrounding environs."

You say: "What are the five Spheres?"

Eleus Batrin says: "The five Spheres are Fire Magic, Ice Magic, Shock Magic, Spectral Magic, and Life Magic."

You say: "Can you make me a Fire Magic weapon?"

Eleus Batrin says: "Certainly I can make you a Fire Magic weapon. Specifically, a Gold Wand. I need some special items: a tiny garnet gemstone, a rod made of pyrite, a glowing stone, and one other item... the Ring of Xantan."

You say: "What is the Ring of Xantan?"

Eleus Batrin says: "Xantan was an ancient and powerful wizard who lived a thousand years ago. He was the leader of a group called the Circle of Twelve, wizards who ruled an empire that, at the time, covered most of the known world. There isn't much information about him, but what is known is this: Xantan was betrayed by the other wizards in the Circle, and they stripped him of his powers and exiled him to the wilderness. Somehow, he ended up in what is now known as the Dank Cave. Now he resides there, at the bottom of that dungeon, rotting and decrepit. Occasionally, adventurers investigate his lair, but none return. You must obtain his ring, which he wears at all times."

You say: "Where can I find the other items?"

Eleus Batrin says: "You can find the gemstone, rod, and Ring in the Dank Cave, to the northwest, in the Hills of Jub. Glowing stones are carried by the lupes and aishas who roam the plains west of here. Various kinds of trolls, skeletons, and other creatures carry what you need in the Dank Cave."

So you have to go out and into find these items to bring back after you defeated Xantan to make weapons.

But before you do that, go into the plain and fight the Aisha and Imps to collect these items:

Cloth Robes:
Blue Thread
A Small Yellow Gem
Glowing Stone

OR

Energy Shield:
Chunk of Metal
Yellow Gem
Glowing Stone

When you have collected these items, go to back to the city and find Moraxis Dorangis and get him to make either a Cloth Robes OR an Energy Shield. Again it doesn't matter which one you chose because it's all the same.

Photobucket
Boraxis the Healer

In the beginning when you are weak and has no healing potion, try to stay no more than 5 steps away from the palace. That way, if your Health Point (hp) is low, you can come back to the palace and seek Boraxis the Healer to heal you back to health. As you get stronger and more powerful, you will have healing potion to help you do that and you can venture further away.

Photobucket
Lummock Sendent

You say: "What do you do here?"

Lummock Sendent says: "I sell some basic magic wands that you might be interested in. There are five wands: the Red Wand, which focuses the power of Fire Magic; the Blue Wand, which is for Ice Magic; the Yellow Wand, for Shock Magic; the Black Wand, which is for Spectral Magic, and finally the White Wand, for Life Magic. If you bring me some things, I'll give you one of the wands."

You say: "What things?"

Lummock Sendent says: "Well, you seem pretty new here, so I'll make it easy. I need four things: a grey lupe fang, a grizzly bearog tooth, a dire lupe pelt, and a black bearog paw. Bring me two at a time and I'll give you one of the wands.

"For the Red Wand, give me a grey lupe fang and a grizzly bearog tooth.
"Bring me a grey lupe fang and a dire lupe pelt, and I'll give you a Blue Wand.
"If you want a Yellow Wand, give me a black bearog paw and a grizzly bearog tooth.
"If it's a Black Wand you're after, bring me a black bearog paw and a dire lupe pelt.
"And lastly, if you want a White Wand, bring me a grey lupe fang and black bearog paw."

You say: "Where can I find bearogs and lupes?"

Lummock Sendent says: "Gray lupes, black bearogs, grizzly bearogs, and dire lupes roam the Hills of Jub to the northwest. You might need to go pretty far west to find them all..."

Photobucket
Choras Tillie

You say: "What do you do here?"

Choras Tillie says: "I am a master armoursmith. You may have met Morax Dorangis elsewhere in the city? He was my apprentice, but got too big for his britches and now he thinks he can strike out on his own. Good luck, I say!"

You say: "What kind of armour can you make?"

Choras Tillie says: "I can make all sorts of armour, but my two specialties are Mirrored Force Fields and Magic Robes."

You say: "Can you make me a Mirrored Force Field?"

Choras Tillie says: "Of course I can, you silly person! You just need to bring me some items. I need a piece of glass, a large one, preferably not cracked; I also need a glowing stone, and a lodestone. Oh, and also a tiny gem, preferably made of obsidian."

You say: "Where can I find the items?"

Choras Tillie says: "All of the items for the force field are found on creatures in the Dank Cave, in the Hills of Jub to the northwest. Ghouls, trolls, and the more powerful skeletons, that sort of thing. Oh, except for the glowing stone, which can be found carried by the lupes and aishas that roam the plains to the west."

You say: "Can you make me a Magic Robe?"

Choras Tillie says: "Of course I can, you silly person! You just need to bring me some items. I need the pelt of a cave lupe, and try not to cut too many holes in it. I also need a glowing stone, and a stretch of rotted cloth. And, lastly, a tiny gem, preferably made of obsidian."

You say: "Where can I find the items?"

Choras Tillie says: "The items for the robe are found on creatures in the Dank Cave, in the Hills of Jub to the northwest. Wild lupes, ghouls, trolls, powerful skeletons... horrid things. The glowing stones can be found on lupes and aishas that roam the Plains of Neopia to the immediate west of here."

Photobucket
Morax Dorangis

You say: "What do you do here?"

Morax Dorangis says: "I'm an armoursmith here in Neopia City. I'm not very advanced, though... I can only make a couple different kinds of armour: Energy Shields and Cloth Robes."

You say: "Can you make me an Energy Shield?"

Morax Dorangis says: "Certainly. All you need to do is bring me some things: a glowing stone, a chunk of metal, and a small yellow gem. Some of the monsters near the city might have them, so you should go hunting. Bring me those items, and I'll make you an Energy Shield."

You say: "Can you make me Cloth Robes?"

Morax Dorangis says:"Certainly. I need a few items, though. Bring me a glowing stone, a plains lupe pelt, and a blue thread. Some of the monsters near the city might have them, so you should go hunting. Bring me those items, and I'll make you a set of Cloth Robes."

The Plain of Neopia

Posted by kreai in

The beginning of you Neoquest adventure begins in the plain. You must not venture no more than 5 steps away from the City. Hunt around for Imps.

These imps are not difficult to fight and you will be able to get Weak Healing Potions (which will heal 10hp) from them. Plus you should be able to get the items they are carrying. Like Chunk of Metal, Small Yellow Gem and Blue Thread.

If your hp is getting low, go back into the palace and visit Boraxis and he will heal you back to health.

When you advance to the next level, you will be awarded 1 point. I spent 3 points on the Fire Magic. 1 on Fire Weapons, 1 on Firepower and 1 on Fire Ball. It helps a little in your future battle because it will take 5hp off from your opponent. It's especially good if you opponent is left with just 5hp before he's defeated because you know you will definitely hit him 5hp.

Note: When I played on Evil Mode, I decided to save these 3 points and spent it on Shock Magic.

As for the subsequent points that you will earn when you reach to the next level, spend it on Life Weapons and Shock Magic. At level 21 you should have skills that is like this:

Life Weapons - 5
Field Medic - 1
Lifesteal - 1
Shock Weapons - 5
Disable - 5
Fortitude - 5
Shockwave - 5

When you reached Level 3, you can go a bit further south and west of the city and try to collect Glowing Stones from the Aisha and the Bearog. Try to collect as many glowing stones as possible (at least 10).

These are tougher monsters compared to the Imps, but you should be able to defeat them. So hunt until you have:

Energy Shield:
A Chunk of Metal
A Small Yellow Gem
A Glowing Stone

or

Cloth Robe:
A Blue Thread
Plains Lupe Pelt
A Glowing Stone

When you have gotten these, go back to Morax Dorangis in the City. Decide if you want the Cloth Robes or The Energy Shield. It doesn't matter which one because they have the same power.
